Chicago brass band veterans Lowdown Brass Band have always incorporated Jamaican elements into their live shows - whether it's a shout of 'Pull Up and Rewind!' from baritone sax player Davide Levine, covering The Wailer's 'Concrete Jungle' or performing an original reggae tune titled 'We Just Want To Be'.
Not satisfied to simply release their original tune on wax for the first time, LDB partnered with producer Nic 'The Graduate' Gourguechon to put together a wicked dubbed-out colaboration featuring vocals from two of Chi-town's best MCs.
The result is a beautiful marriage of vintage and modern mentalities - The Graduate pulls production notes from the annals of Lee Perry's Black Ark while Billa Camp & Illuminati Congo bring the avantagarde.
